Mother`s Day: 3/4/2011

Sunday 3rd April 2011 was Mother`s Day in Britain ... and i treated my Mummy to a lunch :)

i wore: purple Topshop vest-top, Miss Selfridge black skinny jeans, River Island pink/brown blazer, Topshop tan sandals (flat), turquoise Aldo slouchy tote, and jewellery from Primark:

we had lunch in a cheap bar / eatery (mainly because it was cheap, but also because everywhere had been booked up!!) called The Tavern on the Green. it was ok ... i ordered a tuna panini kinda meal, but they were out of tuna (the only thing they were out of ...!) and so i had to have a spicy cajun chicken panini, with a large white wine (of course :)) my Mum had lamb stew with some rustic bread and a large white wine, too :) she enjoyed hers, mine was good - all good, s`pose!

then we went for a walk - i literally couldn`t move after the meal! (but i do have an unusually small stomach allowance for a size 14 ...) - so we could work up an appetite for some cake :)

i took my Mum to Patisserie Valerie. she was excited to go, and i thought that i should give it another go ... unfortunately, the sevice was worse :(

we went in and sat staright down (i learned from the first time!) and ordered some scones and tea for my Mum, and i ordered a mango-flavoured pot of tea. my Mum`s pot of tea (boring, but she loves it!) and two scones with a small pot of cream and a rack of 6 different flavours of jam came pretty much straight away.

so, we waited, and waited ... until i looked at the bill - just to make sure that i did order my tea, and that was the reason we were waiting ... the bill said that i ordered a smoothie (despite me having the menu and pointing it out to the waitress ...!) so i had to get the bill changed.

then we waited some more (well, i say we ... my Mum tucked right in to her scones, haha!) i mean, once my pot of tea did come, it was nice. i mean, i know the tea shop on Bold Street, Brew, has a much faster service, presented differently but to my style, and it tastes nicer because they have more flavours to choose from ... so if it`s tea you`re after - go there!

i conclude by stating that i don`t think i`ll be going back to Patisserie Valerie any time soon (again!) also, i noticed how manky the floor was ...

Mother`s Day 2011 was chilled, and when we got home i had this fairy cake:

so cute, right?! :)
